I see Clock Rules as an unambiguous confirmation of the spiritual and metaphorical unity of time and light. Light as enlightenment. Time as a cycle of change. Not separate entities but interwoven. The very tapestry of life. The clockface in focus, centralized, and stationary. Humanity a blur, dispersed, and kinetic. I thought of Henry Van Dyke's poem, "For Katrina’s Sun Dial"

Time is too slow for those who wait,

Too swift for those who fear,

Too long for those who grieve,

Too short for those who rejoice,

But for those who love, time is

Eternity.

This is an amazing image. I had to stop the clock for a moment and just stare at it.
